Program Overview

What Is the Talented Tenth Program?

The Talented Tenth Historical and Present is a nonprofit educational organization that delivers engaging Black history, leadership development, and cultural enrichment programming directly into schools throughout Los Angeles County.

Our interactive sessions are designed specifically for Pre-K through Middle School students and combine history, storytelling, leadership development, and hands-on activities into a 45-minute experience students look forward to.

We partner with schools, sponsor organizations, and community partners to ensure every student has access to enrichment programming โ€” regardless of school budget.

Testimonials

What Educators & Students Are Saying

"Ashley has taken history and made it fun and engaging for students of all ages. Students develop self-esteem and even more confidence as they learn about contributions from people who look like them. It's thrilling to see students enjoy learning about their history."

Theresa Price Founder, National College Resource Foundation (Black College Expo)

"Your books are really inspiring. They show how Black people are great and how they make a change in the world like Martin Luther King. It was really cool to learn, and your words and the way you format it was really good for kids, so I suggest more kids should read it."
