Who We Are

About The Talented Tenth

The Talented Tenth Historical and Present is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to empowering young scholars through engaging Black history, leadership development, and cultural enrichment programming.

Founded in 2018 by Ashley Feazell, The Talented Tenth was created to help students build confidence, self-esteem, cultural awareness, and academic motivation by introducing them to the stories of leaders, innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, scientists, educators, and changemakers whose contributions have shaped our world.

We believe that when students see examples of excellence, perseverance, and achievement, they begin to recognize their own potential and understand that they, too, can make a positive impact on their communities and beyond.

Mission & Vision
🎯

Our Mission

To inspire and empower students through engaging educational experiences that celebrate history, leadership, achievement, and cultural awareness while helping young people develop confidence in their ability to succeed.

🌟

Our Vision

We envision a future where every child understands that greatness comes in many forms and that their background, talents, and dreams can become powerful tools for success. By exposing students to positive role models, we help them develop the confidence to pursue their goals and become leaders in their schools, communities, and future careers.

Our Mission

Our mission at The Talented 10th is to create an inclusive environment for our children. We understand to grow strong and healthy one has to be firmly rooted. History not only gives a sense of pride, but also an understanding of culture. We are doing our best to fulfill the need of understanding Pan African history, because understanding black history will make for a better future.
